Pavement art

The 2008 Carnivale will feature pavement art, with all visitors invited to get involved in creating a pavement art masterpiece aligned with theme of "The Natural World".

You don't need to be an artist, or bring anything, or even sign up to participate. Just turn up with plenty of enthusiasm and you'll be guided by the 'Chalkwits' - local artists Don Milner and Brian Tisdall.

The Chalkwits call their pavement art "Skid Marks on the Walkway of Life" or "Footpath Graffeety"!

Get involved with the FREE Chalkwits workshop from 10.30am on Saturday 20 September and help them colour up a gaggle of fun and wacky images drawn directly onto walkways and pavements throughout the Eumundi Markets site.

There'll be more pavement art fun the next day, Sunday 21 September, from 10am when the Chalkwits will again turn their talents to chalk.

As Chalkwit Don says, "We create temporary works of art that shine briefly and disappear at the whim of the elements".
