Art of the Body

 
The Art of the Body exhibition and competition will be held at the Main Stage Eumundi Markets, Memorial Drive, Eumundi as part of the Australian Body Art Carnivale on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September 2008.
 
The exhibition and competition is organised by Arts for Community, a charitable organisation supporting people with disabilities through the arts.
 
Art of the Body seeks to celebrate the human form, with interpretation of the theme - Art of the Body - resting with the exhibiting artists.
 
Artworks exhibited as part of the exhibition and competition can be paintings, miniatures, or three dimensional art. NB Artists - please see Terms and Conditions on Entry Form for requirements in these respective competition categories.
 
All artworks exhibited over the weekend will be for sale - and artists will also be in the running for prizes and awards as follows:
  • First prize - Perpetual Trophy and cash/voucher (value $500)
  • Runner-up - Certificate and cash/voucher (value $200)
  • Highly commended - Certificate
Due to the artistic interpretation of Art of the Body, artworks deemed to be of an 'R' rating will be displayed in an over 18's area of the exhibition.

Life drawing and life sculpting workshops
 
As part of the Australian Body Art Carnivale on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September, artists will have an opportunity to participate in life drawing and sculpting workshops at 10am - 10.45am, 11am - 11.45am and 12noon - 12.45pm on both days.
 
Artworks created during these workshops remain the property of the artists, and will not be exhibited nor judged as part of the Art of the Body exhibition.
 
Clay and quality Archers paper and charcoal will be available for purchase to participants, and artists may attend as many life drawing workshops required ($15 per session).
