This was a new event
in 2012 and it was so hugely popular we are going to continue it. 'All Dolled Up' is where fashion dolls such as Barbie, Ken, Bratz and others will be
cooperative models for kids and adults to paint, decorate, enhance. It
will be a fun workshop with doll, paint, glitter glue clay etc provided,
you add the creativity and see what amazing creations we can come up
with. There will be four prizes in the competition:
best entry by under 10 year old
best overall entry
viewers' choice
best representation of this year's theme
'The Best of Oz'.
Rules - you must be able to see the doll at least partially. Extra limbs are quite ok!
As
they are completed dolls will be displayed in the All Dolled Up
workshop tent for all to see. People are welcome to enter dolls
decorated in advance, bring them along on the day.
Cost
is $7 per entry, and you will be provided a doll to transform. People
are welcome to bring extra bits of trash or treasure, plastic fish,
whatever, to assist their creation. There will be reduced entry fee of
$5 if own doll provided.
This event is being run by Kait Manchip who says "I want everyone to get involved in the festival."
If you have dolls to donate, even broken, dissmembered or bad haircut
sufferers, please deliver them to: Discover Eumundi Heritage and Visitor
Centre (Corner Memorial Drive & Gridley St, Eumundi) before May. If
anyone has Aussie bush bits - gum nuts, banksias, gum leaves, casuarinas seeds,
paper bark or other bits of Australia for the kids to use they
could donate would be fantastic.
You
will be able to keep your creation after the carnival, dolls will be
available for collection from 3pm Sunday afternoon, or to collect from
Discover Eumundi Heritage and Visitor Centre afterwards.
